European Placement Network was a partner in the Erasmus+ RMT project from 2014-2016. This project presented a new approach to transnational mobility, providing new opportunities for people looking for career development and for companies looking to improve their recruitment strategies. A methodological toolkit for careers guidance in relation to transnational mobility was produced to provide practical help and guidance for job seekers.
2 comparative research studies were also undertaken within the 5 countries of the partnership to identify high-quality European mobility projects and to present methodologies for capitalisation on experiences during transnational work-based learning.
European Placement Network is the lead partner in the MATCHSI project, which brings together eight partners from seven EU member states is producing a user-friendly and adaptable toolkit to facilitate the identification, the collection and the transmission of all the relevant information to accurately match the needs and expectations of trainees and companies hosting these trainees.
These innovative, up to date resources will be compatible with & complement the already existing tools and methods developed and promoted by the EU, such as Europass CV & ECVET. European Placement Network has been making full use of these resources for the past 14 months.
The MATCHSI project has also produced a multi-lingual work-based learning compendium of good practice for transnational work placements. All resources and materials produced through the project are freely consultable and downloadable via a dual-purpose website and are available in the seven languages of the project.

European Placement Network is the lead partner in the MobMan TWBL project. The project aims to create a user-friendly IT platform for the management of transnational work-based learning. It will allow for the grouping of all necessary information into one place and production of tailored key documents with ease.
There will be a Training Module, allowing users to develop their knowledge of the functionalities of the platform and an interactive User Guide to support users in the use of the key elements of the platform and enable autonomous use by education and training institutions, career guidance and job centres, associations and private enterprises both independently or a tool within existing TWBL programmes.
The platform can be used on individual computers and also via servers for multiple users thereby enhancing transparency, usefulness & accessibility. It will be open-source, downloadable via the MobMan TWBL web-platform and available in the 4 languages of the project, pleasant German and Italian.
It can be tailored according to the needs of specific target groups. It will empower organisers to manage high quality work-based learning with more efficient use of time. The project thus contributes to the mainstream utilisation of innovative resources, work methods and training for trainers and teachers.
The MobMan TWBL platform will also provide a pathway for the validation of qualifications, learning objectives and learning outcomes. It will be compatible with & complement the already existing tools & methods developed & promoted by the EU, such as Europass CV & ECVET.

EPN is the lead partner in the ShowValA project, which brings together 7 partners from 5 EU member states. The project comes from research and the observation that the learning and achievements of those who undertake a period of TWBL are often not recognised and do not always contribute to any potential certification. Furthermore, the learning and achievements are frequently not effectively showcased by candidates when looking to gain entry to the employment market.
There is therefore a gap between what trainees require and so ShowValA aims to fill that gap and encourage organisations and trainees to learn how to present objective evidence of achievements and learning, making effective use of the very best materials and tools available, such as Europass CV and the European Skills Passport.
ShowValA will create a multi-format Smartphone/tablet Application to showcase formal & non-formal learning & achievements in TWBL: This will allow trainees to collect, save and organise evidence of their achievements during their TWBL on a day to day basis. It will fit in very well with their current lifestyle habits as young people tend to manage a significant proportion of their activities on their Smart phones. It will have the potential to be a complete record of their experiences, achievements and unlike a traditional diary, the interface will be structured in relation to agreed learning objectives, units of learning outcomes and skills/competences.
There will be a ShowValA Guide, Process and Tools for educational institutions and mobility organisers on how to fully integrate a period of TWBL into a vocational pedagogical programme and assess formal and non-formal learning and achievements, leading to a recognition of the achievement of learning outcomes and their contribution to the overall course assessment and certification using ECVET principles and materials as appropriate.
There will also be ShowValA Guide & Training Modules for Trainees: This will feature an innovative methodology for an online pre-departure preparation of trainees to use the smartphone application and after their return home, there will be structured, online activity-based valorisation modules on how to link their learning during the work placement with Europass CV, Europass Skills Passport and to best showcase their achievements to potential employers.
