If you’ve ever wondered what it means to be a trainee in the UK and what daily life entails, have a look at Hugo’s post below explaining his daily routine:
Hi, my name is Hugo, I’m 18 and I come from Paris.
EPN found an internship for me in Oxfam. Because of EPN I had the opportunity to stay 3 months in Manchester.
It’s great to work in an other country and to discover an other culture.
I work in an Oxfam Originals. We typically sell a lot of vintage clothes and I have a lot of duties in the shop. I have to; steam and price the clothes, check the saved item rail and put out anything that has been saved for more than 2 weeks, check all stock on the shop floor and ensure everything is priced and tidy, clean the shop and change the window display and the mannequins. I start at 10 am and I finish my day at 6 pm.
After my day at work, I like to go to my gym next to Piccadilly Gardens. Usually, I come back to my home at 9 pm. When I’m at my house I like to talk with my house mate Dwayne. He likes to teach me how to speak English.
At the weekend I like to watch football game – Manchester is incredible for that. This is a city of football and I love that!
