Hi, I’m Abel. I’m from a little city in the French part of Switzerland and I’m a student in everything about digital media like graphic design, marketing, website conception and multimedia.
I had the opportunity to move here in Manchester for six months to accomplish an internship in the company Nuttersons. EPN asked me to talk to you a bit about my experience, so here we are!
This experience has been amazing so far. I’ve learnt a lot of things during my journey here.
First, I had to become independent. Which means that my parents weren’t behind me anymore to push me doing stuff like – waking up in the morning or cleaning the dishes. I had to learn how to take care of myself and to organize myself for every day. It’s rough to start, but once here, it’s really cool!
Then, I had to become a bit more social. When I moved here in England, I didn’t know anybody. So, I had to meet new people to not feeling completely alone. That’s a bit tough because when you’re used to living with your friends and family around, you don’t really think about meeting new people. But that’s a great exercise and that’s the way I could improve my English every day.
And finally, I had to learn a new culture and that was the most interesting thing ever!
I really fell in love with Manchester and the job and life I have there. It’s going to be so hard to leave the UK and going back to Switzerland! But I’m really grateful to had had an occasion like that.
EPN has always been here for me for any questions, problems or follow-up… they’re just perfect!
